Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) responsibilities include supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes or apartments, assisting with daily living skills, community inclusion, and personal growth to help individuals gain independence while ensuring health and safety. The role involves administering and documenting medications, transporting residents to medical appointments and activities using agency vehicles, maintaining accurate documentation in electronic health records, advocating for residents’ rights and goals, participating in staff meetings and trainings, and providing compassionate, person-centered care. This position offers Full-Time and Part-Time shifts with competitive pay ($20.00/hour) and benefits, across multiple shifts (Full-Time: Fri–Mon 3:00 PM–11:00 PM; Part-Time: Sat–Sun mornings and afternoons). Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record and ability to pass MVR check
- Reliable transportation to and from work and ability to drive between work sites; comfortable driving agency vans
- High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to attend two-week in-office paid training and maintain annual recertifications
- Comfortable using computers and agency systems to document shift reports; log data into electronic systems
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other web-based systems
- Ability to provide professional references
- Transport residents using agency vehicles for activities and appointments
- Ability to assist with mobility and personal care
- Lift/force requirements provided (10-50 lbs)
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while ensuring resident safety
