Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care to adults with IDD in group homes or apartments, assisting with daily living skills (nutrition, hygiene, money management, social skills), community inclusion, and personal growth while ensuring health, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities include administering and documenting medications, transporting residents to appointments and activities using agency vehicles, maintaining accurate electronic health records, advocating for residents’ rights and goals, and participating in staff meetings and trainings. Candidates typically have caregiving or human services experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; must have a valid driver's license, be 21+, and complete a two-week in-office training. Position offers part-time weekend and weekday shifts with pay between $20.00 and $21.00 per hour, paid training, benefits, and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to attend and successfully complete a required two-week, in-office paid training upon hire
- Comfortable using computers and agency systems to document data in electronic systems
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other web-based systems
- Ability to provide professional references during the application process
- Must be able to transport individuals served using agency vehicles for community activities and medical or planned appointments
