Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) responsible for hands-on, person-centered care in a residential group home for adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Provide supervision and support to up to six male residents; implement behavioral interventions; assist with daily living activities including toileting/showering, job coaching, and house cleaning; participate in documentation and collaborative care with the residential team. Requires English proficiency, a valid driver's license, CPR/First Aid, Pro-ACT, and Medication Administration Training (training provided); education options include HS diploma/GED with extensive relevant experience or a Bachelor's in Human Services with relevant experience. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities
- Education Requirement: HS diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Ability to speak, see and hear clearly, and write legibly for documentation
- Basic computer skills
- Professional and respectful communication with clients and families
- Ability to intervene with clients using behavioral interventions including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in a personal vehicle or company van
- Housekeeping, toileting/showering assistance, job coaching, role modeling, etc.
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and move regularly
- Valid driver's license for at least 3 years with a registered and insured vehicle
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided)
- Pro-ACT Certification (training provided)
- Medication Administration Training (training provided)
