Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time opportunities in Johnston, RI with sign-on bonus. Support adults with autism and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting, providing hands-on, person-centered care, assistance with daily activities, documentation, behavior support, lifting/transport in vehicles, and collaboration with a dedicated team. Shift examples include evening and overnight slots across multiple days, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities. Requires 2+ years' relevant experience (or 4+ years with a HS diploma/ GED) and the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; CPR/First Aid, Pro-ACT, and Medication Administration Training are provided as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities
- Education either: High School diploma or GED equivalent with 4+ years of related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field with 2+ years of related experience
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Ability to speak, see & hear clearly, and write legibly for documentation
- Basic computer skills
- Professional and respectful communication with clients and families
- Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral strategies including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in a personal vehicle or company van
- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a registered and insured vehicle
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided)
- Pro-ACT Certification (training provided)
- Medication Administration Training (training provided)
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly
