Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Spencer

Direct Support Professionals provide client-centered care to individuals with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental health conditions, supporting daily living activities and helping clients meet physical, emotional, and social needs. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, bathing, toileting, escorting, transition time, and mealtime assistance; teaching self-control and self-management; completing client logs and charts within service-plan timelines; supporting daily activity schedules; arranging appointments and transportation; promoting personal safety and following safety procedures; and documenting progress to meet service-plan requirements. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, basic computer skills, sound judgment, and a valid Class C driver’s license. Experience with medication administration and background checks per standards is also required.
