Job Summary
Conduct direct support and positive direction for CILA and ICF residents, assisting with activities of daily living, household chores, grooming, and money management while promoting independence. Implement and document individual goals and objectives, attend Individual Service Plans meetings, and prepare meals with resident assistance. Administer medications, record vitals, and ensure safety through emergency behavior management, infection control, and proper use of equipment. Transport residents for outings, shopping trips, and appointments; assist in general housekeeping and new employee orientation. Report medical concerns, accidents, and allegations of abuse immediately to the Resident Services Director or Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional. Maintain confidentiality and comply with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Age 18 or older
- Ability to read and comprehend English at an 8th grade level based on standardized testing
- Must be a certified DSP
- Certified in CPR/First Aid
- Certified for Medication Administration or enroll in the company provided courses, achieve passing scores and become certified
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Able to lift at least 50lbs
- Able to stand daily
- Able to bend
- Able to lift
