Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Part Time

Job Summary

Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data while assisting residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and money management. Provide personal care and supervision, teaching functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive settings. Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, resolving problem behavior situations using approved crisis techniques. Complete required paperwork, maintain effective communication with families, and adhere to Bancroft's quality standards for safety. Part-time schedule from Friday 3pm-9pm and Saturday 11am-3pm with an hourly rate of $19.06-$19.44.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License in the candidates' legal name and current address
  • One year minimum driving experience
  • License should be in good standing and free of restrictions
  • Must be available for Friday 3pm-9pm
  • Must be available for Saturday 11am-3pm
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to resolve problem behavior situations
  • Must be able to provide intervention while adhering to Bancroft's quality standards for safety and approved crisis techniques
  • Must be able to complete paperwork and provide regular documentation
  • Must be able to maintain effective communication with residents and their parents, guardians and other family members
  • Must be able to accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings
  • Must be able to provide safe transportation
  • Must be able to collect direct observational data
  • Must be able to provide assistance with daily living activities including personal hygiene, social awareness, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping
  • Must be able to provide personal care and supervision
  • Must be able to teach daily living and functional skills
  • Must be able to transition individuals to less restrictive residential settings
  • Must be able to work with autistic, intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals
  • Must be able to provide quality care in a positive and empathetic manner
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace
  • Must pass pre-employment substance abuse testing

  • Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals
  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities
