Job Summary
Direct Support Professional providing in-home residential services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Newport News, VA. Responsibilities include supporting budgeting and money management, assisting with hygienic and household tasks, engaging individuals in social activities, facilitating community access, following ISPs, completing daily progress notes and quarterly reports, participating in in-service training and biweekly supervision, maintaining client confidentiality, facilitating conflict resolution, and attending physician appointments and assessments. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year caregiving experience, valid driver’s license and auto insurance, CPR/First Aid, Medicaid Waiver competency, and clear background checks. Job types: Full-time or Part-time; in-person work location. Relocation to Newport News, VA available. Benefits include dental, health, paid time off, and vision insurance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma at minimum or equivalent course work
- One year experience caring for individuals with developmental or physical disabilities
- A valid driver's license
- Current and valid auto insurance
- Reliable computer for documentation completion
- Current negative two part PPD test
- CPR/First Aid
- Medicaid Waiver Competency
- Eligible Criminal Background Check
- Eligible Central Registry Check
