Job Summary
Assist consumers in developing community living skills, preparing meals, managing household tasks, and maintaining personal hygiene to foster independence. Plan and participate in recreational activities, assist with appointments, and administer medication consistently while fostering relationships with family and friends. Provide supportive assistance in direct residential care, including budgeting, therapeutic needs, and personal health and safety, ensuring respect and dignity for individuals with disabilities. Maintain confidentiality and comply with agency policies and state/federal regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 9 PM in a New Jersey community setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License (driving record not to exceed 5 points)
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must clear any State/Federal criminal background checks, the Central Registry and CARI database
- CPR/FA certification
- Must be proficient in English (read, write & comprehend)
- Complete all training for the position within established timelines
- Provide at least two (2) verifiable job references
- Ability and willingness to support individuals with challenging behaviors
- Ability to adapt to environmental conditions in private residences
- Ability to maintain safety and cleanliness of any personal item of consumers
- Display professionalism always
- Must be physically capable of transferring, assisting with transfers, and lifting persons who require physical assistance
- Must be able to reach and bend as they assist participants with physical activities
- Must be able and ready to drive and transport participants as required
- Female preferred
