Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support under service plans for clients with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental health conditions. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, bathing/showering, toileting, escort, transitions, and mealtime assistance; teaching self-control and self-management; completing client logs/charts within 24 hours; supporting daily activity schedules; arranging appointments and transportation; and promoting personal safety and adherence to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED/HSED preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to complete/pass required medication administration course
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Clearance from background checks
- Reliable transportation
- Proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage
