Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide support to clients with individualized goals to meet physical, mental, emotional, and social needs. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, bathing/showering, toileting, escort, transition time, and mealtime; teaching self-control and self-management; completing client logs and charts per the service plan; supporting daily activity schedules; arranging appointments and transportation; and promoting safety. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED/HSED (preferred), good written and verbal communication, basic computer skills, ability to exercise sound judgment, completion of medication administration course, a valid Class C driver’s license, required background checks, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
