Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Heartfelt Connections Home Care provides personalized assistance and compassionate care to clients in their homes. Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, transfers, and personal care; following care plans and documenting services; communicating effectively with clients, families, and team; maintaining clients' dignity and independence; and adapting to changing client needs. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; strong communication skills; HIPAA compliance; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and willingness to undergo background checks and possibly drug screening. Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays) and reliable transportation to clients' homes. Benefits include dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, referral program, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a home care setting, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required
- Certification as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or similar certifications a plus, training will be provided
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to provide compassionate and respectful care while maintaining clients' dignity and independence
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, follow care plans, and document services accurately
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and protocols
- Background checks including criminal history and child abuse clearances as required by state regulations; drug screening may be required
- Familiarity with health and safety standards in home care settings

- Reliable transportation for travel to and from clients' homes
