Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) role to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes or apartments. Responsibilities include supporting daily living skills, community inclusion, personal growth, health and safety, medication administration/documentation, transportation using agency vehicles, and facilitating community activities. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, ability to drive between sites, comfort with computers and EHR/documentation, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Training provided; multiple shifts available including full-time and part-time schedules in Basking Ridge, NJ. Competitive pay ($20.00–$21.00/hour) with benefits and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record and ability to pass MVR check with minimal violations
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive between work sites; comfortable driving agency vans when transporting individuals served
- At minimum, a high school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to attend and complete a required two-week, in-office paid training upon hire, as well as maintain annual recertifications
- Comfortable using computers and agency systems to document shift reports, log data, check emails, upload documentation
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other web-based systems
- Ability to provide professional references during the application process
- Ability to transport individuals served using agency vehicles for community activities and medical/planned appointments
- Physical/mental requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently while ensuring resident safety
