Job Summary
DSPs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting by providing encouragement, personal care, supervision, skill-building, and community involvement. Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, meals, medication administration, documentation, transportation to appointments, and promoting participation in community activities. Paid training is provided; opportunities for certification and college credits through SUNY/OPWDD. Sign-on bonuses available for full-time, part-time, and per diem positions; flexible schedules including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or DSP certification required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with at least two years of driving experience required
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication, reliability, and professionalism
- Must successfully complete required Agency and OPWDD trainings
