Direct Support Professional - DSP

Deliver person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living skills, personal development, health and safety, transportation, and social engagement. Promote independence through coaching and prompting while encouraging participants to exercise control over their daily lives and make informed choices. Safely assist with community participation, including recreational activities, public transportation, and accessing community resources, while maintaining awareness of health, behavioral, and safety needs. Document progress toward goals, report changes in condition or safety risks immediately, and follow all approved health and safety plans and medication instructions. Maintain current CPR and first aid certifications to protect participants from abuse and unsafe conditions.
