Job Summary
Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs. Assist with activities of daily living, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, personal goals, appointments, and community engagement. Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment while promoting independence and life skills development. Transport individuals to appointments and outings as needed. Complete accurate electronic documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements and observe changes to communicate to supervisors. Work a variety of schedules including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, or squat for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience, training, or transferable skills that support success in a direct support role
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to promote independence, community engagement, and person-centered supports
- All persons in this position should be prepared to work some weekend shifts and holidays
