Job Summary
Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with activities of daily living, administering medications, and ensuring safe supervision in accordance with NJISPs. Organize and implement recreational activities, accompany participants on outings like shopping or religious events, and transport individuals using an Agency vehicle. Maintain daily electronic and written records of billable services, conduct safety drills, and prepare substitute backup plans for staff absences. Communicate effectively with staff, guardians, and medical personnel while maintaining a clean, positive environment that meets DHS and funding requirements. Work Monday through Friday in daytime shifts across Gloucester County locations, with occasional management responsibilities for training and workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a current driver's license with 5 points or less
- Must be deemed acceptable to drive by The Arc Gloucester's liability insurance company
- Maintain active CPR/First Aide certification
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Proficient in math skills
- Proficient in reading comprehension skills
- Proficient in verbal communication skills
- Proficient in written communication skills
- Successfully pass initial & ongoing State/Federal Criminal Background checks
- Successfully pass ongoing CARI checks
- Successfully pass Central Registry checks
- Successfully pass drug screens
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to drive
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate computers
- Ability to operate phones
- Ability to operate other relevant technology
