Job Summary
Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring. Foster positive relationships, ensure client safety, and remind clients of medications while encouraging self-help activities. Perform home management tasks such as housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, and grocery shopping, and accompany clients to appointments or run errands. Report changes in client conditions to supervisors and document all services provided.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid regular Illinois driver's license with a responsible driving record and proof of vehicle insurance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings
