Job Summary
Implement Individual Service Plans and Residential Service Plan goals while assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Provide active advocacy for all individuals in the Residence and document their progress toward functional independence. Support each individual to establish functional independence in specific skill areas while maintaining overall familiarity with individual needs. This part-time role requires a Driver's License and is available for shifts including Fridays and Saturdays from 10 pm – 8 am, as well as Sunday through Saturday from 2 pm – 10 pm. Daybreak Independent Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency in the Bronx and Queens serving individuals with developmental disabilities through partnerships with local businesses and residential programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Driver's License
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with people
- Excellent analytical ability and organizational skills
- Flexibility, poise, tact, and the ability to develop rapport with individuals of various backgrounds and positions
- 1-2 years in the Human or Health services field
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a residential group home setting
