Job Summary
Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses in daily activities including health and personal management, recreation, and household living. Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors. Ensure all interactions align with Devereux's zero-tolerance policy for abuse and foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for clients and families.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of related experience
- Associate's Degree
- 1 year of related experience
- Valid NY Driver's License
- Be flexible
- Be patient
- Be energetic
- Be creative
- Have a sense of humor
- Be able to lift at least 70 pounds
- Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs
