Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides in-home support per the Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings and adheres to tasks outlined on the ISP, maintains a clean and safe environment, assists with basic personal care (including bathing and related grooming), supports household tasks (cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping), accompanies the consumer to medical appointments and activities, and maintains client confidentiality per HIPAA. The role requires flexibility to meet clients’ needs, potential overtime, and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One to four years of college in a related field is preferred
- Valid Ohio Driver's License – with less than 6 points
- Reliable transportation with proof of insurance
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Working Cellular Phone – to clock in and out for billing purposes
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to lift, carry push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
