Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, implements and documents services according to individual service plans, ensures safe and effective behavior management, supports personal growth and development, facilitates self-advocacy, and assists with meal planning and food handling as part of Day Habilitation programming.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Driver’s license preferred
- Ability to perform all job functions in accordance with agency values
- Ability to communicate professionally with various levels of staff, People We Serve and family members
- Certification in CPI (behavior certification) desirable
- Proficiency in NYS DSP Core (through agency training)
