Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will implement individualized strategies for clients with physical, developmental, and intellectual challenges, documenting services provided. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a clean and safe environment, attending to self-care needs, medication management, and transporting clients as needed. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED, with desired certifications like CNA. Experience with developmentally disabled adults is preferred. The position requires physical tasks such as lifting clients and performing housekeeping, with scheduled hours including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Pass S-TOFHLA literacy test
- Must complete required DSP and Medication Administration Training, including CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, OIG Rule 50, and CPI
- Must maintain medication administration authorization
- Must complete additional on-the-job certification for enteral nutrition tasks
- Must have a valid Illinois driver's license
- Must have access to a personal cell phone
Desired Qualifications
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or Autism Certificate
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
