Job Summary
Provide ongoing guidance and support to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities, covering self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, and socialization. Assist with medication administration, meal preparation, and transportation for medical appointments, shopping, and recreational outings. Ensure a safe and clean home by participating in household chores and maintaining treatment plans and documentation. Serve as a member of the inter-disciplinary team by attending meetings to discuss progress and goal achievements. Mentor new staff by demonstrating supportive routines and reviewing training manuals. Adhere to overtime, scheduling, and minimum staffing policies while maintaining all certification and training expectations. This role requires regular unsupervised physical contact, a valid NYS driver's license, and successful completion of a fingerprint/criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Must submit a valid NYS drivers' license
- Maintain a qualified driver status throughout employment
- Must have the ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information
- Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (children and/or adults)
- Must successfully complete fingerprint/criminal background check
