Job Summary
Plan and supervise activities promoting a healthy, active, and socially integrated lifestyle for individuals with disabilities in community and facility settings. Assist participants with employment, daily living, personal care, hygiene, grooming, and mobility transfers. Oversee medication administration, provide support and training aligned with service plans, and maintain participant safety. Transport participants using the Agency van, complete daily reports, and respond to emails. Stand, sit, lift light loads, and use hands and fingers to operate computer equipment. Serve on Agency committees as appointed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency
- 21+ years of age
- Criminal background must meet funding source requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Driving record must be approved by Agency insurance carrier
- Ability to complete all assigned trainings including but not limited to CPR, First Aid and Recipient Rights
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and professionally with participants and staff
- Composition skills sufficient to prepare required documentation
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a confined area
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period
- Close vision requirements
- Light to moderate lifting
Desired Qualifications
- two-years of college
- Fluency in American Sign Language
