Job Summary
Provide direct support to individuals with developmental and learning disabilities, enabling them to live independently and thrive in their communities. Deliver services including community integration, travel and transportation, money management and budgeting, socialization, healthy lifestyle skills, and assistance with medical appointments. Work one-on-one with individuals receiving services while utilizing various software programs and applying behavioral techniques. Maintain good time management skills and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team. Complete required First Aid, CPR, and Defensive Driving training upon hire. Hold a valid New York State Driver's License in good standing and use a personal vehicle for transporting individuals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid New York State Driver's License in good standing
- Use of personal vehicle for transporting individuals receiving services
- Successful completion of First Aid, CPR, and Defensive Driving upon hire
Desired Qualifications
- One year pertinent experience in health and human service related field
- Experience with individuals with disabilities
- Good time management skills
- Ability and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to work 1-1 with an individual receiving services
- Moderate level of written and oral communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of behavioral techniques and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of computer and ability to utilize various software programs
