Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings by maintaining consistent engagement, fostering self-advocacy, and providing person-centered supports. Deliver daily activities that encourage community inclusion, habilitation, and activities of daily living while utilizing Positive Support Programs to guide interactions. Provide personal hygiene and medical assistance, including medication administration, and offer transportation to support recreational and social participation. Work independently to create safe environments, encourage positive interactions, and provide accurate shift documentation. Schedule includes Monday through Friday from 7am-5pm, with residential shifts covering evenings, overnights, and weekends. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and completion of background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to support a person with personal hygiene and medical-related needs, including medication administration
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift
- Must be able to provide transportation for those you are supporting
