Job Summary
Provide on-site, client-centered programming for individuals with neurodiversions, including Life Skills Training, personal development, arts, recreation, and educational activities. Create and implement therapeutic programming with an emphasis on life skills while advocating for clients within and outside the agency. Deliver hygiene and daily living support, including cleaning, food preparation, and room safety checks. Manage crisis situations, administer medication, and support community integration. Work flexible day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts in various Ontario locations.
Required Qualifications
- Verbal and Written Communication in English
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (completed or in progress) Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Child and Youth Worker/ Child and Youth Care, Disability Support Worker or other related fields
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (current within 6 months)
- Employee Medical Test with Hep B, and 2-part TB test
- Proof of Immunization record
- Consent to CAS SAFE records check
- $1,000,000 Liability Automobile Insurance
- Valid G Driver's License
- Access to a vehicle at work
- First Aid/ CPR- Level C
- DSW, CYW, SSW
- Experience working with children and/ or youth with disabilities
- Experience with individualized plans
- Experience with Life/social skills programming
- Experience with implementing behavioural interventions and programming
- Experience in Trauma Informed Care
- Experience managing and responding to crisis situations
- Experience in medication administration
- Cooking and cleaning skills
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with minimal supervision
- Ability to set priorities to manage time within deadlines
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends and statutory holidays
- In Person at one of our locations
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in other languages
- Experience is encouraged but not required if related education is complete
