Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver Float provides direct care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in residential group homes in Eugene/Springfield. Enrich and support residents' lives in a safe environment; provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care. Assist with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating), meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, mobility and transfer assistance (including mechanical lifts), transportation for community outings and appointments, and implement positive behavior supports and de-escalation as needed. Flexible scheduling required with two available float schedules (day/swing or swing/overnight). Must be dependable, team-oriented, with strong communication and documentation skills; meets Oregon DHS requirements. Paid training/orientation provided, benefits include insurance, 401k, PTO, and growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of DSP/Caregiving experience
- valid driver’s license and vehicle
- flexible schedule (open availability and weekends required)
- able to work day/swing or swing/overnight float schedules
- willing to learn different supports (medical to behavioral)
- at least 18 years old
- provide references
- attend two weeks of paid orientation and training
- pass background checks as required by Oregon DHS
