Job Summary
Conduct daily living assistance, including housecleaning, meal preparation, and shopping for incapacitated individuals. Provide training in basic personal, social, and academic skills while planning budgets and assisting with bill payments. Arrange medical care by scheduling appointments, obtaining prescriptions, and ensuring clients follow doctor's instructions. Offer transportation to appointments and activities, adhering to all vehicle safety laws. Develop individual service plans, monitor client behavior, and maintain accurate case records and tickler files. Provide emotional support, counsel on behavioral problems, and instruct family members on client care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- One year experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human service setting
- Associate degree in a related field
- Two years' experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human service setting
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
