Job Summary
Provide daily support and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges by encouraging goal attainment and fostering a safe, respectful environment. Prepare meals according to dietary specifications, manage laundry and housekeeping, and administer medications as prescribed. Transport residents to appointments, advocate on their behalf, and assist with documentation while supervising personal care, life skills, and social activities. Remain awake and accessible for round-the-clock care in homes requiring 24/7 supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who have mental illness and co-occurring disorders
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, social services, or a related field (but not required)
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to physical aggression and infectious disease
