Job Summary
Conduct behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data while assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, money management, and housekeeping. Provide personal care and supervision, teaching functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive settings. Accompany residents to healthcare appointments and community outings, resolving problem behavior situations using approved crisis techniques. Complete required paperwork, maintain effective communication with families, and work flexible hours including a minimum of 40 hours per month and two weekend shifts in Mt Laurel, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License in the candidates' legal name and current address. One year minimum driving experience. License should be in good standing and free of restrictions.
- Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals
- Must work a minimum of 40 HRS. per month
- Must work 2 weekend shifts
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must maintain a drug-free workplace
- Must pass pre-employment substance abuse testing
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
