Job Summary
Provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities including dressing, hygiene, toileting, and mobility. Support structured daily routines, implement positive de-escalation strategies, and monitor health, seizure activity, and behavioral changes as assigned. Assist with meal preparation, light household tasks, community participation, and transportation needs. Complete accurate SOAP documentation and follow incident reporting and emergency protocols. Some placements operate in 24-hour supervision environments requiring overnight staff to remain awake and actively monitoring for safety needs throughout the entire shift. This role involves intensive, exception-rate placements requiring advanced competency rather than passive companionship. Staff must be engaged, attentive, and capable of following structured service plans to support individuals in structured home environments.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to provide hands-on care
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to follow structured service plans
- Professional boundaries and reliability
- Must pass DHS NetStudy 2.0 background check
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year experience as a DSP, PCA, IHS, ICLS, or HCBS caregiver
- Experience supporting individuals with behavioral dysregulation
- Experience supporting individuals with seizure disorders or medical needs
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and awake overnight shifts
