Job Summary
Direct Support Professional providing personal and skilled care to adults with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with medications, cooking, dressing, personal hygiene, and cleaning; delivering high-quality personal care; coordinating with family, healthcare professionals, and community members; observing and following Behavior Support Plans; performing nursing tasks as trained; monitoring health indicators (vital signs, weight, sleep, mood); supporting individuals in homes and during community activities; and driving clients to appointments or errands. Requires a licensed driver with two years’ experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and weekend availability. The role emphasizes empowering adults to live with independence and self-determination within group-home settings, with duties varying by individual needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to pass a background check
- Licensed driver with at least two years' driving experience
- Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
- Knows basic cooking skills and willing to learn new recipes
- Knows basic cleaning skills
- Willing to be flexible and learn new skills
- Preference for applicants who can work at least one weekend day
