Job Summary
Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks while promoting independence and self-advocacy. Support clients in developing life skills and participating in social, recreational, and community activities by building respectful, positive relationships. Accurately document services provided and track individual progress while communicating effectively with team members, families, and external providers to ensure coordinated care. Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical needs, including crisis situations when necessary. This role requires a valid driver's license with three years of experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks, including criminal history and driver's record check
- Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances, including child abuse clearance (if applicable)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to lift, transfer, and support individuals as needed (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services or related field
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a strong desire to help others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
