Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DD/ID) for a full-time 32.5-hour shift (8:00 am - 2:30 pm) in Middletown, CT. The DSP follows agency policies, supports health, well-being, and development of individuals, collaborates with staff to implement Positive Behavior Support Plans and ISP goals, and contributes to IMPACT’s mission and guiding principles. Requires valid CT driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance, high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration Certification. Must meet physical requirements (including lifting up to 50 pounds) and participate in comprehensive training; a degree in psychology, human services, or related field is preferred, with 3-5 years of experience preferred but training available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current CT registration and insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration Certification
- Ability to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift at least 50 pounds (or 1/4 of body weight)
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED; Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of job experience preferred but training provided
