Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides person-centered supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in nursing facilities, delivering training to help individuals achieve personal goals and lead more self-determined lives. Responsibilities include implementing and documenting positive behavior strategies, maintaining health and safety per OSHA standards, lifting up to 50 lbs, traveling between nursing facilities to support clients’ goals, and daily/monthly documentation. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to adhere to LifeSkills core values.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Complete and maintain core training in required time
- Prefer one year experience in human services field
- Valid driver’s license
