Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities in daily living skills in a residential program. Responsibilities include skills training, medication administration, transportation to activities, maintaining progress notes, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory standards. Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to drive a van and provide physical assistance as needed. Specialized training and certifications such as FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or at least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products
- Valid US driver's license with at least one year of driving experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
- Specialized certifications in PABC or ABA techniques
- Advanced training in autism or behavioral support
