Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional 2 will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities, focusing on skills training in daily living tasks and fostering independence. Responsibilities include implementing regulatory standards, managing medical and financial support, documenting progress, and maintaining safety in various environments. Candidates should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be computer literate, and have the ability to drive. Special training and certifications in behavioral support and healthcare may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or at least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position
- 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy to include ability to use Microsoft products
- Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van with a valid US driver's license
