Job Summary
Direct Support Professional 2 assists individuals to work toward outcomes and meaningful experiences, provides personal care (including restroom help, hygiene, meals), transports participants to Community Day Services locations, administers routine medications under RN guidance, supports development of activities, and ensures safety. Requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D., ability to read/write, TABE 80% or higher, driving capability for agency transportation, and basic computer skills; strong communication and advocacy skills and adaptability to changing program needs are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must pass the TABE with 80% or higher
- Ability to drive agency vehicles
- Ability to read and interpret participant program plans and procedures manuals
- Ability to write routine reports
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic computer operations for participant data tracking and incident reporting
