Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides hands-on care, advocacy, and community engagement to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Core duties include assisting with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, household chores), administering medications as directed, supporting mobility and safe navigation, implementing behavioral strategies, facilitating social and recreational activities, and documenting progress in electronic systems. Requires fluency in English, a New York State driver’s license with 2+ years of driving experience, and a high school diploma or equivalency. The role emphasizes compassion, patience, collaboration with healthcare providers, and empowerment of individuals to live as independently as possible. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency (required)
- Valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience (required for driving positions)
- Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions)
