Job Summary

Provide support and assist people with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities in activities of daily living during day, evening, and overnight hours. Create opportunities to foster independence while managing medical, clinical, and financial needs. Transport individuals to medical, recreational, and community activities. Maintain daily progress notes, shift checklists, and documentation per regulatory standards. Administer medications, conduct steady care calls, and perform household cleaning duties. Assist with physical interventions, including lifting and moving individuals weighing over 200 pounds. Maintain mandatory certifications such as FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP. Develop relationships with guardians and stakeholders. Serve as Fire Safety, Safety, or Human Rights Officer as assigned. Work Sunday through Saturday shifts totaling 37 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Minimum of one year of driving experience in the United States
  • Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van
  • Ability to drive a 12-passenger van
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to physically assist people served, often weighing more than 200 pounds
  • Ability to provide balanced support and physical intervention
  • Ability to assist with movement, bathroom routines including toileting
  • Ability to assist with entry and exit of a tub or shower
  • Ability to get into and out of wheelchairs
  • Ability to deal with assists that include physical, behavioral and medical interventions
  • Ability to perform additional lifting or moving as part of activities in the daily living of people in our services
  • Acceptable CORI results

Desired Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities
  • Specialized certifications
  • Being credentialed or trained in specialized areas such as PABC or ABA techniques
  • Advanced training in areas such as autism, behavioral support and/or healthcare
  • Ability to administer medications according to MAP regulations
