Job Summary
Direct Support Professional providing hands-on care, personal care, daily living support, health and wellness monitoring, mobility assistance, and behavioral/emotional support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, household chores, administering medications as directed, accompanying medical appointments, supporting mobility and safe navigation, implementing respectful behavioral strategies, facilitating community and recreational activities, advocating for individuals’ needs, and maintaining accurate records and documentation in electronic systems. Collaboration with healthcare providers and therapists to deliver holistic care and promote independence within home and community settings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency required
- A valid New York State Driver’s License with 2 years of driving experience required
- Experience working with adults with behavioral health or other disabilities preferred
