Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Tasks include assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication administration; supporting personal goals and participation in community activities; maintaining accurate documentation; promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment; and communicating with team members, families, and supervisors to coordinate care.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or 1 year’s previous experience working with intellectually disabled adults in a Residential setting
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to pass background and reference checks
- Demonstrate an ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
- Minimal proficiency in mathematics
- Be compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Functions as a team player, who always has the best interest of the individuals as a priority
