Job Summary
Deliver direct support per individual service plans, assisting with personal care, housekeeping, medication administration, and community integration. Accompany individuals to medical appointments, transport them safely, and prepare meals according to dietary plans. Accurately document progress, maintain confidentiality, and report incidents or safety hazards immediately. Maintain a safe environment by performing minor repairs, ensuring proper safety equipment use, and completing required training. Works scheduled hours with mandatory drug testing and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- All state-required training(s) and certification(s) completed in mandated timeframes
- Maintain valid driver's license, meet all insurance requirements, and be approved by management to be a driver for the company
- At minimum, a High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing in The State of New Jersey
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing for the state in which they live (if commuting from another state)
- Employees must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
- Must submit to drug testing prior to employment
- All employees shall submit to drug testing randomly and for cause/suspicion
- Employees must submit to criminal background checks
- Be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served
- Have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required trainings
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Working knowledge of computers
