Job Summary

Perform caretaking tasks including feeding, toileting, and changing while maintaining a safe environment. Assist individuals with daily living activities and encourage independence, while transporting them to community events in program vehicles. Support the development of annual outcomes and IEPs, participate in team meetings and ISP reviews, and complete daily documentation. Learn and apply individual communication strategies, behavioral protocols, and medical guidelines. Maintain positive relationships within the program and community, ensuring strict adherence to ODP Principles, Incident Management, and mandatory reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of how to navigate through sensitive matters and the ability to support and teach adults with intellectual, physical, and psychological disabilities
  • Possess the ability to work independently, implement plans, demonstrate flexibility, and maintain confidentiality regarding consumer/Program activities
  • Ability to schedule activities and/or meetings
  • Ability to gather and/or collate data
  • Ability to use job-related equipment
  • Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances, with a diversity of individuals
  • Background clearances (Child Abuse, PA Criminal Check, Fingerprinting, Mandated Reporter Training, and Protecting God's Children Training)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to frequently move or lift children weighing up to 100 lbs. from wheelchairs to tables or desks
  • Ability to frequently bend at the waist, kneeling, crouching, and pushing or pulling to assist students
  • Ability to reach overhead as well as above shoulders and horizontally
  • Hand and finger dexterity to demonstrate activities or run medical and instructional equipment
  • Hearing and speaking ability to exchange information, make presentations, hear in a noisy environment, and locate the source of a sound
  • Ability to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities
  • Ability to work outside the normal school day to attend school-related events
  • Respect for the teachings and discipline of the Church in regard to matters of faith and morals, including maintaining a lifestyle that is in conformity with the teachings of the Catholic Church
