Job Summary
Direct Service Manager at Covenant House New York leads and develops Resident Advisors across residential programs in Manhattan and The Bronx. Responsibilities include supervising daily tasks, staff development, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, coordinating case reviews and planning, crisis management, de-escalation, and inter-team collaboration to maximize positive outcomes for youth. The role requires building an energized, mission-driven culture, overseeing program operations, onboarding new Resident Advisors, and maintaining engagement with internal and external stakeholders. The position demands leadership, organization, crisis responsiveness, and a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field preferred
- Experience working with diverse groups
- Experience working with young people experiencing homelessness preferred
- Supervisory/leadership experience preferred
- Must have strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must know human service delivery systems, residential care, and resources for youth
- Must have on-call availability
