Job Summary
Contact, visit, and educate clients and potential clients on Abbott's cardiac rhythm management products within your assigned territory in Quad Cities, IA. Build and execute business plans to identify, target, and develop new accounts with physicians, laboratories, distributors, and hospitals. Provide medical professionals with training on product use, including staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting. Manage physical inventory, analyze sales statistics, prepare reports, and handle administrative duties such as expense reporting and travel planning. Attend trade shows and conferences to showcase new technologies and discuss product developments. Resolve and facilitate the resolution of problems, including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
- Two plus years of sales or clinical support experience
- Proven experience influencing customers in a healthcare-related setting
- Aptitude to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices
- Ability to work with and direct others effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with medical device industry policies, operations, and procedures
- Documented record and/or aptitude for delivering sales/marketing information to influence customer decision-making
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers, physicians, hospital administrators, government agencies, medical groups, and other sales representatives
- Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, sales, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated working knowledge of frequently used personal computer programs and relevant applications
- 50% of the Time travel
- Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
- Continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
- Continuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 hours at a time in an 8 hour day)
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
- Work with human blood or other potentially infectious materials
- Work with infectious organisms or known infectious materials
