Job Summary
Assist clients with personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding, and oral hygiene. Provide mobility support such as ambulation, transferring, and positioning clients while performing light housekeeping and preparing meals for special diets. Monitor physical and emotional health changes, document care via telephony system, and maintain a clean, safe living environment using appropriate PPE. Work one-on-one in clients' homes with flexible scheduling, requiring ability to travel independently and work at least two weekends monthly. Must pass PA State Police, FBI, and other background checks.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Completion of a formal certification program or ability to pass a skills/competency test
- Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
- Neat appearance and good personal hygiene
- Dependability, reliability, and sound judgment
- Friendly, patient, and respectful with a sincere interest in caring for others
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical caregiving tasks
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Must be able to work at least two weekends per month as scheduled
Desired Qualifications
- Valid driver's license, insured vehicle in good repair, and clean driving record
- Ability to travel independently to clients' homes (unless exempt)
