Job Summary
Direct Care Support provides personalized care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in a facility setting. Responsibilities include assisting clients with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, medication management), monitoring and documenting behaviors and progress, supporting clients during community outings and recreational activities, collaborating with families and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care, maintaining a safe and respectful environment, supervising medication procedures and charting, following facility policies, and ensuring residents receive proper care. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; relevant behavioral health training and experience are a plus. Shift options include full-time (Mon-Fri 3:00pm–11:00pm) and part-time (Sat-Sun 10:00am–6:00pm). Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in behavioral health or related field preferred
- Prior experience working with individuals with IDD or in a behavioral health setting is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and professional in challenging situations
- Basic knowledge of behavioral health principles and safety protocols
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for community outings
